Their first incarnation was as early as 1994, under the name Shrug, which eventually became Polar Bear but due to copyright, had to change their name to Snow Patrol. However, though there was small sucess the band did not make it big until the release of the single "Run" in 2003 and since then have released two very sucessful albums with more to come.
