Grace Potter & the Nocturnals

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals hail from Burlington, Vermont. The band formed when Potter met drummer Matt Burr at St. Lawrence College. They were soon joined by Scott Tournet, and eventually Bennt Yurco and former Ryan Adams and the Cardinals bassist, Catherine Popper. The band mixes a great blend of rock and blues, with Potter's voice being compared to Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, and Bonnie Raitt.

"They've pretty much been my favorite band of the summer of 2010. Each album feels like a definite progression from the last. Although, I do wonder about Potter's voice. She gives so much to every performance and it's such a strain. Definitely worth a listen. Or several."
